The author with Dame Ulli Lust
The author draws, writes, and records sounds he claims to be "music". He likes to put his pictures, along with his words, in peculiar rows, so they can be called "comics". or, "graphic literature", as some prefere to label it, whose pretension the author very well can understand, and is even prepared to embrace at many times. Sometimes, the author neglects to put pictures next to his words, which then are only to be called "literature", without the "graphic". At other times, the pictures aren't accompanied by any words. They then often are still comics. But not always. Especially not so much so when beamed on a wall by means of digital projection. But the author likes to contradict and calls those "room comics". Now the author is already getting annoyed by the growing complications of labelling his diverse artistic utterances. He stubbornly refuses to get into any more detail of this and turns away, arms crossed, mumbling about his being "just a storyteller".
Some of the authors stories are fictional. Others are reports or essays, others again are all that at the same time. Or are not even stories at all. Though the author insists they are.
When the author isn't doing what he is supposed to, sitting over a table, back arched, view tunneled, fixing a piece of paper or computer screen, he is going places where unsuspecting institutions have him "lecturing", "teaching", or "curating".
Or he might be just doing nothing. Which may not be possible, but he sure is trying hard at times.
A pdf file entitled "random mini portfolio", presenting a small collection of imagery taken from various works by kp, with a short "cv" in German language, considering some of the authors dubious merits serving as its introduction, may be downloaded here.
